In this online Anatomy and Physiology course, students learn about anatomical structures and physiology of the human body. Body systems are discussed in terms of how each participates in homeostasis of the body. Students learn about selected major pathologies, including causes, symptoms, diagnostic procedures, and treatments, as well as common changes that occur through the life span.
This half-unit course is self-contained and does not require a textbook or any additional print materials.

When completing the Transcript Entry section, you select your course subjects from a standardized list that was created in conjunction with the Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA). These course subjects fall into categories that CASPA uses to help calculate several GPAs. Online anatomy and physiology courses often are components of degree programs in health-related disciplines, such as nursing, human movement, exercise physiology, sports science, cell biology. This course teaches the structure and function of the human body, and mechanisms for maintaining homeostasis within it from modern evidence-based anatomical and physiological perspectives. Topics include the study of cells, tissues, integumentary, skeletal, muscular, and nervous systems.
